You've finally made the decision to take the golf vacation that you've always dreamed about, but you have no idea where to start in planning all of the details. Or maybe this is just another special trip in a series of golfing adventures that you've been on, but you're tired of doing the planning by yourself. Where do you go to find the help that you need?

Golf vacation providers are quickly becoming a popular option. Think of them as travel agents that specialize in putting together memorable golf packages; packages that can include everything from air transportation and room accommodations to tee times, cart rentals, meal planning, and activities for the non-golfers in your group.

Begin your quest to locate one of these potentially invaluable planners by doing an online search for "golf vacation providers," "golf vacation packages," or combinations thereof. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised at the large number of service providers that you locate in just these simple searches. The hard part can be weeding through them all to narrow down your choices. Consider doing an advanced search based on the preferred location of your trip, if you've already identified one.

You can even search online for travel agents who might not specialize in putting together golf vacations but who appear to be highly rated and who will create a golfing trip when requested to do so. You might just want to verify how many golf packages such an agency has put together to date.

• Golf courses that you plan to travel to - It's worth at least a telephone call or email to inquire if they have any recommendations pertaining to a provider to work with based on your specific needs. Perhaps they already have an existing working relationship with one.
